CLASH OF THE CODES FOR CANCER 2007

Legends of Rugby League & Rugby Union Collided for their codes and for Cancer on 17 November 2007 in an effort to raise awareness of both Breast & Prostate Cancer and raise much needed funds for the McGrath Foundation & Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA).

The day featured a carnival with rides, reptiles, slides, showbags, Free Wheelin Harley Rides, Belly Dancing, Central Coast Judo demonstrations and a magnificent Fireworks display by Fireworks FX and performances by Cahodyblama and Mark Cashin & The Lil' Husseys.

      

     

The match was hotly contested and featured former Legends of both codes such as former Dual International Ray Price, former Wallabies Warwick Waugh, Bob Egerton, Ewen McKenzie, Steve Merrick, Mark McInnes, James Grant, Peter Jorgensen, Scott Gourley, former Springbok Hooker Uli Schmidt, Italian International Mark Giacheri and League Legends such as Cliff Lyons, Michael Buettner, Mark Laurie, Jamie Feeney, Greg Florimo, Tyran Smith, Josh Stuart, Paul Stringer, Wes Patten, Willie Leyshon, Geordi Peats, Jamie Goddord, Mark & Shane Horo, Darren Brown and referees Shayne Hayne from the NRL and former International Rugby Referee Peter Marshall.
 
 FORMER WALLABY WARWICK WAUGH TAKES CHARGE
 
The match was played in great spirit and was highly entertaining with the players showing several glimpses of the skills of yester-year. The game was played under the rules of Rugby League for the first half and Rugby Union for the second half with no kicking allowed.Ruby Union finished the match ahead on the scoreboard for the inaugural Clash of the Codes for Cancer winning 46-42 in a hard fought match.

 LEGENDS RAY PRICE AND CLIFF LYONS CONTEST THE BALL
 
The Clash of the Codes for Cancer assisted in raising awareness of both Breast & Prostate Cancer and $7000.00 in funds with $3,500.00 being donated to the McGrath Foundation and $3,500.00 being donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
